This magnificent hand built 1923 Ford Replica of the Pacers Auto was recreated by Billy Lynch and Roy Miller. The launch of Billy Lynchs successful professional drag racing career began in the early 1960s out of a garage in Brooklyn, NY. Billy built his own chassis formed his own bodies, and constructed the front ends on all his racecars entirely on his own. In addition to the in-house preparation of his top fuel and top gas dragsters, Billy also tuned and drove these 1500 horsepower, nitro-burning machines almost single-handedly. His hands on experience, coupled with his many national event victories earned Billy a reputation second to none in all of drag racing.
The build on this unique replica began on October 7th, 2009 and was completed on June 26th, 2010. Approximately 1250 working hours and over $100k in hard parts were spent to construct the Tasmanian Devil at a total cost of over $220k. The engine is a 1958 Chrysler 392 cubic inch Imperial engine balanced by Jack Merkel. The camshaft is a Howard R381 special grind 106 lobe. Howard heavy duty roller lifters. Ported and polished Daytona Heads. Hilborn 4 inch injector, custom Billy Lynch oil pan, Schiefer Flywheel clutch, custom body by Billy Lynch. Body is painted in Artic White. The front wheels are 12 spoke magnesium polished Hildbrant, the rears are 16 inch. The chassis was built by Bernie Shacker. A full spec sheet on this replica can be accessed on request.
