1965 Shelby Daytona Coupe Factory Five for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to offer this stunning Daytona Factory Five Gen 3 Type 65 Coupe tribute car. The Type 65 Coupe is designed to be an accurate replica of the original 1965 World Championship Daytona Coupe. The Factory Five Type 65 Coupe captures the look and feel of the original 200 mph GT cars, but as with all Factory Five designs, it is more reliable and comfortable. Our example is presented in Vintage Race Blue with a white stripe and black interior. The build was completed in 2020 and is still in excellent condition with only 3,042 miles and sporting a 5.0L Roadster Coyote Engine. Options include: Gen 3 Coupe Complete kit, A/C, Windshield wipers, Backup camera, EFI fuel system, IRS front/rear sway bars, IRS 11.65 brakes, Wildwood pedals, Gen 3 powder coated chassis, Coyote full length headers, Competition aluminum race seats, Mickey Thompson Street Comp Tires, Glass Rear Window, Electronic Fuel Injection, Rack and Pinion Steering, Disc Brakes, Black carpets, Side windows, 17x9 5lug Halibrand knockoff replica wheels, Hot rod 11.65 IRS brakes, Tremec TKO600 5-Speed Manual Transmission, Kirkey Racing Bucket Seating with Black Cloth Upholstery Roll Bar, Simpson 5-Point Harnesses, Wood 3-Point Steering Wheel, EFI fuel pump and more! Traveling along with this '65 is the Assembly Manual, Chassis Wiring Manual, Parts Lists, Receipts, and a Binder with information and images of specific parts!
There were only six original Daytona Coupes ever made. Those cars captured the 1965 FIA World Championship for America in the last years before mega-money took American roadracing from its roots and from the average guy. Despite the fact that the design never entered production, those six cars, hand-built upon 289 AC chassis, are some of the most valuable collector cars on the planet. Each of the original six Daytona Coupes is valued between $8-20 million! More importantly than the money, these cars have became symbolic of the end of an era. Here is your opportunity to own a piece for American Racing history for a fraction of the cost!
