1965 Volvo PV544 Sport for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to present this 1965 Volvo PV544 Sport featured in light blue with a blue interior. The PV series started in 1944 and remained relatively unchanged until 1966. About 440,000 cars were built over the 22 year production run, this example was built near the end and features the high horsepower B18D motor plus other improvements. The PV544 was incredibly sturdy and reliable, and it earned a good reputation in competition. The B18 motor responds well to tuning and our car has been upgraded with twin Dellorto carbs in place of the stock SUs, and it benefits from many IPD components. The front brakes have been upgraded from the standard drums to disc brakes and a Laycock electric overdrive has been fitted which operates on 4th gear and gives the benefit of relaxed cruising at lower RPM at highway speeds. The car is running VTO rally wheels in the classic Mini-Lite style with 205/50 R15 tires. On the inside you will find a pair of Recaro sports seats with electric heat and a custom three-spoke steering wheel. The original steering wheel is included. The car is otherwise in very good condition. We are quite fond of the PV544. It's styling was derived from the mid-40's Ford line and continued to sell well into the 60's. Parts are readily available and these cars are simple to maintain. This example is great fun to drive and will attract attention everywhere you go.
