1966 Chevrolet Corvette 427 for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to present this impressive C2 Corvette coupe finished in black over black and powered by a 427ci V8 paired with a four-speed manual transmission and a 3.55 rear end. Additional equipment includes a Delco push-button AM/FM stereo, side exhaust pipes, and turbine-style knock-off alloy wheels. Recent restoration work includes reupholstering the interior, refreshing the brakes, and rebuilding the engine.
Fiberglass bodywork came factory finished in Silver Pearl (986), and was repainted its current shade of black some time during previous ownership. The paint was wetsanded during the refresh in 2013, and features include rotating headlights and side exhaust pipes. Reproduction 15 turbine-style wheels are secured with three-eared knock-off spinners and mounted with 205/75 Uniroyal Tiger Paw tires that were reportedly installed in 2017. The suspension was refreshed during current ownership, and the brakes were serviced with resealed calipers, replacement shoes and lines, and stainless-steel emergency brake hardware. The cabin was reupholstered in black vinyl and features a matching dashboard, door panels, and loop carpeting. Lap belts are fitted for both occupants, and amenities include a locking glovebox, an analog clock, and a vertically-mounted Delco push-button AM/FM radio.
A faux-wood-rimmed steering wheel frames instrumentation including a 160-mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary displays for fuel level, amperage, coolant temperature, and oil pressure. The five-digit odometer shows just under 88k miles, total mileage is unconfirmed however. The 427ci V8 was factory rated at 390 horsepower and features a single Holley four-barrel carburetor. The car shows some flaws and patina but is overall a stronger example and a very nice driver. Your inspection is invited!
