Monkees Mobile for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to offer this one-of-a-kind Monkees Mobile/Monkeemobile. There is no doubt which is the most famous Pontiac GTO in the world. Though many of us Pontiac fans might look at the original '64 Royal Bobcat or perhaps one of Arnie "The Farmer" Beswick's racecars, the truth is there is one even more well-knownone that has woven itself into the fabric of American pop culture. The ironic thing is that most people don't realize the Monkeemobile was actually a '66 GTO. This vehicle was the number 3 vehicle used on the television show The Monkees. The car was restored by a representative of renowned car builder George Barris on the East Coast. The car was later used to travel in and out of the country as one of George Barriss promotional vehicles and part of his star collection. This vehicle is as it was in the TV series, The Monkees and no alterations to the actual design features have been made, with the exception of the alterations to the frame and suspension and the removable roof, which is now made to be removed more easily, and was licensed by George Barris and Rhino Pictures. This car has been used by all of the members of The Monkees and has done appearances on many occasions as a feature vehicle on TV shows and used as a feature vehicle at the New York Worlds Fair Anniversary. The car is a modified 1966 Pontiac GTO. George Barris has often said that this was the number one vehicle. Your inspection is invited!
