1969 Jaguar XKE E-type Fixed Head Coupe for sale! Motorcar Classics is pleased to offer this stunning XKE presented in Metallic Light Blue with Dark blue leather interior. This example is completely restored and is in excellent condition with single ownership for the last 30 years. The Series 2 E-types date from 1969 and represent what is arguably the most refined version of the original design, which dated from 1961. This car is one of only 2,392 Jaguar XKE coupes built that year and came equipped with factory air conditioning. With only 55,740 miles this car has been extremely well cared for and as noted about is in excellent condition. Much of the restoration was completed about 12 years ago. More recent work includes new respray, weather seals, new Daytona chrome wire wheels, Vredestein Sprint classic tires and a new air condition unit. All of the chrome on the car is in beautiful condition, some of which was re-chromed.
The leather interior trim and seats were restored approximately eleven years ago, along with the replacement of all rugs and mats, and a new mahogany steering wheel was also installed. The entire interior is in very good condition. All the wire harnesses, gauges and switches were also replaced or rebuilt. The original 4.2L straight six-cylinder engine was rebuilt as well, with only roughly 20,000 miles put on it since. The front and rear suspensions on the car were also restored a couple of years ago, and a new stainless-steel header, link pipe and exhaust system were installed. The heater was rebuilt at that time and new A/C unit installed.
This year, the car underwent a major tune up, in addition to the exterior work noted above, with all belts and hoses replaced. Its dual Zenith-Stromberg carburetors were rebuilt, with a new battery, fuel pump, brake pads, brake hoses & pipes, clutch master cylinder & pipes and alternator installed.
This XKEs engine runs incredibly strong, and the car drives smoothly and handles well. The four-speed manual gearbox feels excellent, as do the brakes. The car comes with its original jack, tool kit, owners manual as well as the Heritage Trust certificate. Along with an extensive collection of restoration/service receipts. Your inspection is invited!
