1987 BUICK GRAND NATIONAL for sale. Motorcar Classics is pleased to present this awesome 1987 Buick Grand National featured in Black with Black and Grey interior. Touted when new as the fastest American-made production car in 1987 it is great fun to drive and it is very recognizable. The car has covered 123k miles in the hands of three owners and spent more than half of its life in sunny Arizona. There is a substantial history file including receipts for maintenance over its entire life, and the most recent owner added an Alky Control Progressive alcohol injection system. This custom designed kit simply bolts into the car and includes a factory overflow tank custom modified into an alky tank, and a new overflow. This kit incorporates a full progressive control system that adds the alky as the boost comes up. The controller is small mounted on the dash and has a low alky light so you know when to reload. Alky allows you to run 26 PSI boost on pump gas without knock or detonation. Methanol injection is much cheaper than race gas and eliminates the need to constantly replace O2 sensors that get destroyed by leaded fuel.
Features include power windows, power door locks, power brakes, R-12 AC, cruise control. Sunblox window tint, and Powerlock security system. The GN is clean inside and out and has been well-maintained as evidenced by the receipts in the history file. It was never raced or abused. The Carfax report is clean and the car shows no signs of ever being damaged. It has the original engine, transmission and turbo with no internal modifications or repairs. Upgrades include Kenne Bell valve covers and breathers, MAF pipe with 8" KN filter, 160 thermostat, aluminum water outlet, fuel pump, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, green stripe injectors, throttle body power plate and pinion snubber. Dennis Kirban breather bypass kit, aluminum alternator pulley. Duttweiler intercooler neck, Terry Houston large 304 SS down pipe, CarSound high flow catalytic converter, Hooker cat back dual exhaust. Bilstein shocks. Stock 200-4R Overdrive Transmission & converter rebuilt at 110K. Timing chain replaced 112K. Bosch Hydro-Boost brake system installed 125K (new master cylinder, PS pump and SS braided hoses). AC overhauled 2014 (New compressor, orifice tube, dryer). Blows cold air. New paint in 2015. Glass and all trim, emblems, bumpers, etc removed to ensure a great paint job. Front seats, headrests & visors re-done in 2012. New cloth & foam. No sag! New trunk carpet & spare tire filler. New headliner. Dynamat sound deadening material (roof, floor & doors). Fiberglass dash filler panel. Alpine CDE-HD137BT stereo with Pioneer speakers. Front & rear Spool Fool fiberglass bumper fillers.
This is a fine example of a Grand National that you can show with pride but still get out on the road and enjoy to its full performance potential.
