2005 Ford GT for sale. Motorcar Classics is proud to offer this 2005 Ford GT presented in Centennial White with Sonic Blue stripes. This 3-owner GT has only 4675 original miles. The engine is a 5.4L supercharged V8 engine with dry sump lubrication producing 550HP mated with a 6 speed manual gearbox. Equipped with a Macintosh stereo and BBS forged wheels this GT has won several awards in east coast shows and most notably at the All Ford Nationals. This particular GT is one of the very few with billet aluminum control arms. This fitment during a production flaw in the original control arms cost Ford over $20,000 to have them produced by Saleen to keep production on schedule. While under the present ownership the car has been exclusively maintained by Rick Brooks and Dennis Breitenbach (The GT Guys, LLC) in Detroit. Rich and Dennis were both on the design & development team and car construction while at Ford. All maintenance records are available. The GT Guys installed their exclusive pulley & tune, OEM Ford Trans cooler, exclusive performance exhaust and quick release hood latch on the rear bonnet. The car has been fitted with OEM replica gauges as the original gauges were prone to constant malfunction. All original parts will come with purchase to new owner. The present owner had the pleasure to spend time on many occasions with the car designer, Camilo Pardo and the VP in charge of production, Chris Theodore. Both have signed the engine frame rails. The most unique piece of nostalgia is that this car is highly featured throughout the Ford approved GT Owners Experience Book. This GT was selected as the vehicle over all other GTs to be placed on the inside front and back pages of the book. The series numbered first edition book with metal plaque identifying the VIN is being given to the new owner. And finally, the car has Expel clear film applied to the front, hood and key body panels since new and has been changed every 4 years. There are numerous other accessories such as custom 1966 style seat covers, custom mats, leather shift boot and much more. Over the past 12 years Motorcar Classics has sold many Ford GTs. Having been the previous owner of one of the original prototypes CP-1 we know the difference between a good Ford GT and a great one. The Ford GT you are looking at is one of the best weve ever seen. Its a true investment grade magnificent example with many rare options and features. Chassis #0986 was delivered new to its first owner in Florida who kept it only a few months before selling it to its second owner who also sold it quickly after that to the current owner who has owned it now for over 9 years. It has been driven less than 300 miles a year and always stored in a temperature controlled facility. The Ford GT was built for only 2 years (2005-2006). They were built to commemorate the 1960s Ford GT40 wins at Le Mans. This is truly a rare opportunity to own such a unique piece of Ford heritage racing history. VIN: 1FAFP90S75Y400986
