2019 Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition for sale! Motorcar Classics is proud to present this 2019 Lincoln Continental Coach Door Edition featured in the launch colors of Chroma Crystal Blue Metallic with Alpine Venetian Leather interior. In 2019 the words Lincoln and Continental had been linked for 80 years, and in that merit the 2019 Coach Door Edition was built in a limited run of only 80 cars to mark the anniversary. Not every Lincoln Continental over the years has been a classic, but the 1939 original, the 1956 Mark II and of course the 1961 sedan are all design icons. In honor of the 80th anniversary of the Continental, Lincoln is bringing back one of the key features of the 1961 model for the limited edition 2019 Continental Coach Door Edition. This new Continental retains the standard B-pillar. However, the rear hinged doors do make it easier for affluent passengers to make a graceful exit from the back seat when arriving at the movie premier or fancy restaurant. Further aiding the ease of entry and exit is a six-inch stretch behind the B-pillar. That extra span makes an already roomy back seat downright cavernous. All of the engineering and design work to create this new Continental variant was done in Dearborn. The new sheet metal parts including the doors and various body and frame extensions were fabricated at a local custom stamping shop in Michigan. The cars were all built as standard Continental Black Label models at the Ford Flat Rock Assembly plant and shipped along with a kit of parts including fully assembled rear doors to Cabot Coach Builders in Massachusetts. Cabot is a Ford Qualified Vehicle Modifier that already does a number of other conversions on Ford and Lincoln vehicles. They removed much of the interior, cut the body in half and inserted the six-inch stretch before repainting and assembling the car into a coach door edition. All of the Coach Door models had the Black Label package and were powered by the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6 with 400-hp and a torque-vectoring all-wheel-drive system.
Our car is #28 of the 80 examples made. It has only 6,289 miles and is estimated to have 29 months or 43,711 miles remaining on the original factory warranty. It is as-new and unblemished. It is featured in the exact color combination of the Lincoln brochure and press photo car. With only 80 made, these cars do not trade often. This is your opportunity to own a particularly desirable example of this very limited edition.
